Expanding the National Diabetes Prevention Program

Working toward equal access to the lifestyle change program for all people at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes

In 2017, CDC awarded ADCES with our latest 5-year cooperative agreement (CDC-DP17-1705) to activate the National DPP within underserved communities with little or no access to CDC-recognized lifestyle change programs. Working in cities and rural communities, we’ve engaged priority populations—Latinos, African Americans, Medicare beneficiaries, men, and others—who are underutilizing the National Diabetes Prevention Program.  

This work isn’t easy, and we know we can’t do it alone. That’s why ADCES is working with 20 local affiliate sites to expand lifestyle change programs within their communities:
